Uses
Some of the things and tools I use on a regular basis.
Development
For development, I mostly use IntelliJ IDEA1 and occasionally VS Code.
As my terminal emulator I use Ghostty with zsh and Powerlevel10k.
I use Docker for my containers and Colima as the runtime for them.
When I’m working on Tangled I have my development environment running in a Fly.io Sprite.
For version control, I’m currently trying out jj, which I’m growing to like a lot.
My goto browser is Chrome, although I’m looking at Zen every once in a while.
For design things, I use Figma.
When I’m using AI in development, it’s currently Codex with Claude occasionally sprinkled in.
Software
My music plays from Spotify, I manage my logins with Bitwarden, and my windows with Rectangle.
As my launcher I’m using Alfred, and I’m sure I could get a lot more out of it.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages with the code on Tangled.
Changes are deployed automatically through Tangled’s CI runner (Spindle), since Cloudflare doesn’t support Tangled repos (yet?).
Notes
I keep my notes in plain Markdown files in a GitHub repository.
I tried Obsidian for a while, but I prefer the simplicity of plain files and git.
Although I’m not very consistent with it, I have a journal for physical writing.
Hardware
I’m typing on the Keychron K3B3. It’s wireless, I like the layout and the switches, and I can switch between different devices easily.
In the future I want to try out a split keyboard and maybe even build a custom one.
After retiring my Sony WH-1000XM3 in 2025 I’m now using AirPods Pro (2. Generation). I really like the easy switching between multiple devices and the automatic pausing when taking them out.
I don’t like that I constantly drop them.
My phone is the iPhone 15 which I bought after retiring my previous iPhone 11.
Misc
Regardless of LLM’s abusing them, I like using em dashes in my writing.
